Silver Spring, MD, August 16, 2006 -- Content Management Professionals (CM Pros), the international content management community of practice, today announced the theme of its sixth Summit: Content Management and the World Enterprise. The full-day event takes place Monday 27 November 2006, co-located with the Gilbane Conference on Content Technologies at the Westin Copley Place hotel in Boston, MA, USA.

CM Professionals Launches Communities in Australia, Canada West and Benelux

The Association for Content Management Professionals Goes Global

Silver Spring, MD, October 6, 2005 -- Content Management Professionals (CM Pros), the international content management community of practice, today announced that three geographic communities have been formed under its new member-driven committee process: The CM Pros Australia Community, The CM Pros Canada West Community and The CM Pros Benelux Community.

The CM Pros committee process -- which enables members to formally organize in groups based on geographic location or common interest in a particular topic -- empowers any group of at least three members to form a committee by issuing a call for participation to the entire membership. A steering committee -- elected by community members at the group’s first meeting -- oversees the creation and progress of subcommittees and strives to advance the mission of the committee. CM Pros communities may host events and meetings as well as engage in working activities, such as by publishing newsletters or contributing white papers to CM Pros growing Knowledge Resource library.

Steering committees for The CM Pros Canada West Community and The CM Pros Australia Community have been formed. In Australia, co-chairs David Warwick and James Robertson are joined by Lauren Bryan and Matthew Harris. In Canada West, chair Rahel Anne Bailie is joined by Nenad Furtula, Fred Hoeflok and Jeff Sinclair.

The stated purpose of The CM Pros Australia Community is to provide Australian content management professionals with networking opportunities, a forum for examining content management topics of interest, promotion of content management in Australia, educating on content management and developing mutual opportunities. The CM Pros Australia Community will also provide a central source for media comment on the content management industry and forward the CM Pros international mission statement and objectives within Australia. Their next meeting is scheduled for October 17, 2005 in Middle Park, Victoria.

"Web content management remains a rapid growth segment in Australia and it is rare in its capacity to pull together professionals from a broad cross-section of the business community from content creators, publishers, marketers, company executives, designers, programmers, integrators and vendors," stated David Warwick, co-chair of The CM Pros Australia Community. "The CM Pros Australia Community offers significant networking and information sharing potential that does not exist in any other Australian professional forum. Without any promotion, our growth in a matter of weeks to 28 members highlights the pent-up demand in our corner of the world."

The stated purpose of The CM Pros Canada West Community is to provide a local forum where professionals engaged in content management can learn and share information about content management to further the body of knowledge in this field. The group’s kick-off program meeting was held on October 3, 2005 in Vancouver, British Columbia, where the group convened around the theme "Putting the Content Back into Content Management."

"Content management is the next big efficiency initiative since the Web," said Rahel Anne Bailie, chair of The CM Pros Canada West Community and president of Intentional Design (www.intentionaldesign.ca). "Content management is already making a big difference to companies who have implemented it -- implemented it properly, that is -- and will have a huge impact across all industry sectors and sizes. We can’t afford not to have a forum where professionals of all stripes -- practitioners, vendors, and the business sector -- can come together to discuss strategies and emerging best practices."

The stated purpose of The CM Pros Benelux Community is to provide content management professionals with networking opportunities, a forum for exchanging and examining content management topics of interest, promoting and professionalizing content management in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, and educating on content management and developing mutual opportunities. The CM Pros Benelux Community will also provide a central source for media comment on the content management industry and forward the CM Pros international mission statement and objectives within Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Furthermore the group will assist new communities in other European geographies with their start-up activities, as well as engage in ongoing knowledge exchange and networking programs with them.

The group’s first meeting was held October 5, 2005 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, at which time a steering committee was elected among candidates Daniëlle Kolmer, Maarten Korz, Adriaan M. Bloem and Erik M. Hartman — all of The Netherlands — and Peter Hinssen of Belgium.

"This new community enables innovation and knowledge sharing within a regional group of individuals that share interests and experiences," declared Maarten Korz of De Lage Landen Financial Services (www.delagelanden.com) in The Netherlands. "The combination of an international organization and a high degree of topical and local activity gives CM Pros members the breadth and depth we need to be effective content management professionals within our region."

Erik M. Hartman is one of the founders of CM Professionals and currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors. "It was a real honour to be the only European member who has been voted as a Board Member, and I always wanted a Benelux Community for content management professionals. As the international organization matures, it’s time to focus on local Benelux activities."

Zaltbommel, 26 september 2005 - De internationale vereniging Content Management Professionals (CM Pros) geeft op 5 oktober 2005 de aftrap van CM Pros Benelux Community, een regionale chapter die actief zal zijn in Nederland, België en Luxemburg. CM Pros Benelux vertegenwoordigt alle CM Pros leden uit deze regio en wil het vak van de content management professional verder helpen promoten en professionaliseren.

CM Professionals heeft in een jaar tijd al bijna 500 leden over de hele wereld aan zich weten te binden. Dit zijn allemaal content management professionals die op zoek zijn naar kennis en ervaringen over het content management domein. Inmiddels zijn er al een aantal chapters opgericht in de Verenigde Staten, Canada en Australië. In 2005 wil CM Pros meer dan twaalf regionale groepen oprichten, met een verdubbeling in elk volgende jaar. Met CM Pros Benelux is de oprichting van de eerste Europese chapter een feit, de volgende zal nog dit jaar in Denemarken worden opgericht.

De CM Pros leden in Nederland en België hadden de behoefte om een eigen regionale community op te richten. "Dit nieuwe chapter maakt het mogelijk om innovatie en kennis te delen binnen een hechte groep van mensen met dezelfde interesses en ervaringen," aldus Maarten Korz van De Lage Landen Financial Services. "De combinatie van een internationale organisatie met specifieke regionale onderwerpen geeft leden van CM Pros in de Benelux nu net de verdieping die we nodig hebben als content management professionals." Erik M. Hartman is als 'founding father' en vice-president van CM Professionals erg actief voor de internationale vereniging. "Het was een hele eer om als enige Europeaan te worden gekozen in het bestuur. Maar altijd had ik voor ogen om voor de Benelux een community van content management professionals op te richten. De internationale vereniging is goed op weg, nu is het voor mij tijd om meer aandacht te besteden aan Europa en de Benelux".

CM Pros Benelux biedt leden de kans hun netwerk uit te bouwen tijdens diverse ontmoetingen en een eigen on line platform. Zo zullen er jaarlijks white papers worden uitgegeven met daarin onder andere best practices die op de regionale situatie zijn toegespitst. Verder wil CM Pros Benelux ook internationaal een rol spelen door deel te nemen aan diverse werkgroepen in internationaal verband.

De CM Pros Benelux Summit vindt plaats in het WTC Rotterdam op 5 oktober, aansluitend op ECMplaza 2005, hét evenement over Enterprise Content Management (ECM). Om 18.00 uur wordt er een welkomstdiner georganiseerd voor CM Pros leden en genodigden. Daarna zal CM Pros President Ann Rockley alle aanwezigen welkom heten en content management goeroe Bob Boiko inleiden. Bob Boiko is de schrijver van de Content Management Bible, een standaardwerk in de content management literatuur. Bob vertelt een verhaal over de eigenschappen van een content management professionals onder de titel 'What does it mean to be a CM Pro?. Na deze keynote wordt in groepsverband gesproken over een aantal onderwerpen die de leden zelf hebben aangedragen.

Professional Association for the Content Management Community to Support Local and Topical Member Groups

Silver Spring, MD, August 17, 2005—Content Management Professionals (CM Pros), the international content management community of practice, today announced its new member-driven committee process including a framework for the formation of regional chapters.

The CM Pros committee process—which enables members to formally organize in groups based on geographic location or common interest in a particular topic— empowers any group of at least three members to form a committee by issuing a call for participation to the entire membership. Within thirty days, the group hosts its first official meeting at which attendees elect a steering committee populated by at least three members of the group, one of whom serves as chair.

The steering committee oversees the creation and progress of subcommittees and strives to advance the mission of the committee. CM Pros committees may host events and meetings as well as engage in working activities, such as by publishing newsletters or contributing white papers to CM Pros growing Knowledge Resource library.

Named "The CM Pros [REGION] Community" or "The CM Pros [TOPIC] Community," the program is supported by CM Pros increasingly robust portfolio of services, including mailing lists, community-specific web pages, and support for events such as meetings and CM Pros Summits.

Airing air every Tuesday at 1PM (EST) through September 6, 2005, each show features special guest experts who discuss topics related to content management such as the community’s professional association, the business case for content management, technical writers, moving to structured content, and overviews of authoring tools and content management systems.

U.S. Event to Focus on Enabling Content Personalization through Content Management

Silver Spring, MD, USA, 3 August 2005—Silver Spring, MD, August 3, 2005—Content Management Professionals (CM Pros), the international content management community of practice, today announced a series of events scheduled for Fall 2005. Building on the success of two previous events, this year’s schedule includes the Content Management Summit to be held in conjunction with ECMplaza in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on October 5, the Content Management Face-to-Face to be held in conjunction with the Content Management Forum in Aarhus, Denmark on November 8, and the Fall 2005 CM Pros Summit to be held in conjunction with the Gilbane Conference on Content Management Technologies in Boston, Massachusetts on November 28.

In a move signaling CM Pros' continuing expansion, CM Pros also announced that Laura Walker - who as executive director of OASIS led that consortium to the forefront of e-business standards - has been appointed CM Pros Executive Director. The executive director position was previously held by industry luminary and CM Pros cofounder Bob Doyle, who becomes the organization's Technology Advisor, continuing to support and enable its member and public communication infrastructures.

"With her extensive experience in the content management industry and a professional history that ranges from graphic design to technology product marketing and e-business leadership for the Federal Reserve, Walker is uniquely qualified to represent the diverse membership of the organization," Doyle affirmed. "Laura was selected from a strong set of applicants and particularly impressed the Board with the clarity of her vision for our future."

As the organization's primary link to members and the public, the executive director translates the CM Pros mission and strategic plan into action.
