How to use our 4-step shopping cart

When you click on a shopping link, you are taken to the shopping cart. The item you selected is added to your cart.

You are asked to login, to continue shopping as a guest, or to register as a new user.

If you continue shopping, you are taken back to the catalog page.

If you choose to login, you are taken to the shop login. Enter your email (as stored in your member records) and your password. If you forget your password, we can send it to your known email address.

New customers are taken to Step 1 of our 4-step order form. It asks for a full name, an email address, a username, and a payment method (you can change this later). Note the lock icons in the page and in your browser status bar--these indicate that you are accessing a secure server and that for your protection your credit card and other personal information will be encrypted when it is sent.

Clicking to continue the checkout process takes you to Step 2a. From this point on, please do not click the back button in your browser. Like many shopping tools, your browser may lose vital information (we are working on this difficult problem). Instead, you will have options in later pages to go back to edit your address or your credit card number.

Continuing to Step 3, enter your payment information. If we detect errors in your credit card number or type of card, you will see warning messages that stop you from proceeding.

If you want to change your payment method at this point, you can.

Continuing to the final step, you are shown a review summary of your order, your shipping and billing information, an obscured credit card number, and your order total. Your order is not completed until you confirm it by clicking "Send Us Your Order."

When you press "Send Us Your Order, the credit card transaction may succeed or fail. If it succeeds, the next page will include your order number, suitable for printing as your receipt. If it fails, a message will explain the reason.

If the transaction completes, you will also receive an email with notification of your purchase and a link to your online account information.

If you ordered a membership, it will take us a short time to set your new member privileges and send you a welcome message. This is done manually, the welcome message being sent by our Mailman list server program when we subscribe you.

Please note that you will get a password for our mailing list archives and a separate password to the CM Pros website. You may of course change both of these to anything you want.
