CM Pros held its first CM Summit in Boston, Massachusetts, USA on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 in association with the Gilbane Conference on Content Management Technologies.
Patterned on other similar community summits, the day focused on peer interaction to help develop and propagate best practices and had ample opportunities for professional networking. The sessions were interactive meetings with no formal presentations and no vendor pitches.
The CM Summit started with Bob Boiko facilitating the discussion of 'Aligning Content Strategy to Business Strategy and Making the Business Case'.
At the end of this session, small groups formed to prepare recommendations and Bob Boiko did impromptu video interviews with a number of attendees.
Ann Rockley led a discussion of reuse and Brendan Quinn analyzed performance metrics. At the end of each session small discussion groups convened.
Tony Byrne led the Forum on where CM Pros goes next.
Hilary Marsh asked everyone to introduce themselves. Most of these introductions were captured on videotape. She then discussed the practice of content audits.
Bob Doyle summarized efforts to date on the glossary and resource library projects.
Bob videotaped the entire summit. Web streaming versions of each session, member introductions, and Bob Boiko's interviews are available now.
